We are not defined by missed experiences…we are defined by lived experiences and how we learn from them.  Rather than dwelling on “if only’s,” we need to recognize the formative power of our lived experiences. We need to stop pining after what might have been and recognize that the life we’ve actually lived can shape us into women and men of character, hone our skills and perspectives, and give us insight into ourselves and the world around us.  If we are willing to stop wishing for something different and start learning from what we have, we may just find that the path we’ve taken offers some extraordinary lessons.
